As area digs out, forecast of more snow downgraded to rain

As temperatures rose Friday, melting some of the snow from Wednesday and Thursday’s heavy winter storm, Virginia Department of Transportation and Charlottesville Public Works crews pulled 12-hour shifts to finish removing a thick blanket of snow from country roads and city streets.
