Chelsea Light Moving turns Moore's solo project into band

Solo projects can offer performers time to feel the warmth of the spotlight all by themselves. But when Thurston Moore, guitarist and songwriter of Sonic Youth fame, dove into a new individual effort, he decided to heat things up with a new band instead.

"Chelsea Light Moving," a new CD that will be released Tuesday by Matador Records, takes its name from the band Moore formed by inviting longtime friends and colleagues to join him. The quartet includes guitarist Keith Wood, drummer John Moloney and violinist Samara Lubelski, who is playing bass in this outfit.
