As the man identified as Alexis Murphy’s abductor sat behind bars Monday afternoon, the frantic search for the Nelson County teen dragged on with new mysteries emerging, yet no sign of her.

A day after authorities arrested Randy Allen Taylor, 48, on an abduction charge, FBI agents combed the area near his modest one-story Lovingston home carrying shovels. By late afternoon, the agents were gone, police tape around the house had been removed and a sport utility vehicle and camper hauled from the property.
