Albemarle safety awards to honor enforcers, survivors

The Albemarle County Police Department plans to celebrate residents whose lives were saved in crashes by wearing seatbelts, according to a news release from the department.

A Traffic Awards Safety Ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Thursday at the department.

Saved by the Belt awards will be presented to Samantha M. Graves of Greenwood, Joyce R. Sims of Reva and Ashley R. Wood of Gordonsville.

Awards will also be issued to Officer Jeremy DeLange for speed enforcement and Officer Kevin Miller for DUI enforcement.
