Jody Kielbasa, director of the Virginia Film Festival, will become the vice provost for the arts at the University of Virginia.
Kielbasa will be appointed for a five-year term, and will continue to serve as director of the film festival.
"Jody will participate in planning for the arts, ... will participate in fundraising initiatives associated with the arts, and will be responsible for initiating and coordinating cross-disciplinary collaborations for the arts at the university,” said UVa Executive Vice President and Provost John Simon in a statement.
“He brings a unique skill set and history to this position, including a diverse arts background, a proven ability to build collaborative partnerships across the University and in the community, and a track record for remarkable fundraising success," Simon said. "In fact, his focused ability to garner corporate and individual support for the Virginia Film Festival has been integral to its recent success.”
Kielbasa replaces Elizabeth Hutton Turner.
