Chamber announces new Leadership Charlottesville class

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday announced the members of the 2013 Leadership Charlottesville class.

Established in 1982 as a chamber economic development initiative, the program introduces participants to the region’s key institutions and people that shape community issues.

Class members also must complete a community service project and attend 80 percent of the sessions to graduate. More than 800 people have graduated since the program’s inception.

The United Way — Thomas Jefferson Area and Klockner Pentaplast are the program’s lead sponsors. Fourteen other organizations are also providing financial support.
