A Charlottesville youth basketball team was knocked out of an annual, national tournament this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but not because they lost.
In fact, the team won and was on a five-game winning streak, but was disqualified because of a new National Travel Basketball Association policy that states girls cannot play in the boys’ tournament anymore. The coaches and family claim they were not made aware of this change in policy, before or during the tournament, and legal action is being considered.
