A Charlottesville man was arrested in Albemarle County on Saturday night for felony evading of a police officer, reckless driving and driving without a valid driver’s license, police Sgt. Miller Stoddard said.
A man was observed driving a dark-colored Lexus and traveling southward at 65 mph in a 45 mph zone at about 7:50 Saturday evening on Seminole Trail near Ashwood Boulevard, police said. The man then accelerated and continued on Seminole Trail, turned off his headlights and sped through two red traffic lights.
Officers followed the vehicle into a parking lot in the 700 block of West Rio Road, where they removed Jermaine Herndon from the vehicle and arrested him.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, Stoddard said.
