STANARDSVILLE— No arrests have been made after Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement and Blue Ridge Area Narcotics Task Force officers discovered about $670,000-worth of marijuana in Greene County on Thursday, Sheriff Steve Smith said Friday.
Investigators recovered about 190 marijuana plants and two bags containing the drug from a home in the 3000 block of Dunnes Shop Road in Quinque, Smith said. Court records value the property at about $350,000
Authorities also reported seizing seven firearms, three televisions, a gas generator, cellphones and cash from the home.
Court records state that police narrowed in on the house after a man told an officer he had seen 200 marijuana plants there. Investigators obtained power records for the property ahead of the raid and noted high consumption levels consistent with an indoor marijuana growing operation, according to an affidavit.
A man and woman sitting on the home's front porch Friday afternoon declined to comment.
