Police arrested a Ruckersville man late Tuesday on charges he exposed himself to a University of Virginia student walking along Rugby Road.

Anthony Quinn Basel, 27, pulled a pickup alongside the woman, rolled a window down and spoke to the woman, Charlottesville Lt. Ronnie Roberts said. When the woman answered, she saw that Basel was exposed from the waist down. Basel then continued driving north on Rugby Road, said Roberts.

The woman called police about 11:30 p.m., Roberts said.

Police arrested Basel on Carr’s Hill Road, charging him with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor. He was released Wednesday from Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on a $1,000 unsecured bond, according to the magistrate’s office.

Basel is not a University of Virginia student, Roberts said.
