Thirty years ago, a ban was placed on uranium mining.
Nothing in those 30 years has changed — it is still a threat to our water and children and environment.
Why would we want to lift that ban? The dangers are still there. I don’t believe any changes in mining uranium can mitigate the untold damage that it will cause.
An offer of putting some profits back into the community is a bribe, and surely the people living in the vicinity of the mine must be insulted at such an offer. Any money received by them will not lessen the irreversible harm that will be done to their water and to their children and families.
The people with money simply don’t care about the citizens; they only care about making huge profits. It’s shameful, and those responsible should examine their consciences.
