For the 10th year in a row, the University of Virginia has been named one of the nation’s top two public universities -- and one of the nation’s top 25 universities overall -- by U.S. News & World Report.

UVa takes a second-place tie with the University of California, Los Angeles, behind the University of California, Berkeley, in the Top Public Schools list. UVa outranked a host of respected public universities, including the University of Michigan and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The College of William & Maryis ranked sixth, while Virginia Tech is tied with several other schools for 25th.
