Woman faces third larceny charge in two months

A Stuarts Draft woman is facing her third charge of shoplifting in two months after loss prevention officers told police she tried to walk out of the Waynesboro Kmart without paying for several items. Waynesboro police charged Ayme Lou Browning, 41, with felony larceny after two or more previous convictions.

Father of fugitive faces felony charges

Waynesboro police charged the father of fugitive Whitney Allman with two felonies this week after officers said he threatened to kill one of the witnesses in his daughter’s pending cases. Deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office arrested Wesley Ray Allman, 55, of Greenville, at his residence shortly after midnight on Jan. 25.

Weekend SWAT raid leads to drug charges

Two men are in jail after Waynesboro police conducted a SWAT raid over the weekend that produced a stash of methamphetamines and other drugs. Officers charged Lance Brooks, 37, of Staunton and Michael Wesley Hartless, 42, of Waynesboro each with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute after police received multiple complaints of drug activity at Hartless’ residence.

Deputies investigate murder in Fishersville

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what led to a shooting Saturday morning at Fishersville’s Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab. Deputies and emergency crews were called out around 11 a.m. Saturday, after a 911 call from the facility.

Police search for robbery suspect

WAYNESBORO-A man armed with a tire iron attempted to rob the Royal Mart convenience store Friday morning, before fleeing the scene with no money. Waynesboro police are searching for the suspect, who they said threatened two store employees and attempted to take the contents of the cash register.
