An Augusta County man was being held in Middle River Regional Jail on Tuesday on charges that he shot into a Stuarts Draft house with five people inside.
Justin Lam, 19, of Stuarts Draft, was charged with four counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call shortly after 6 on Monday night saying a home on Schages Lane had been fired into.
The caller provided a description of a white GMC pickup truck believed to be connected with the incident and said the truck had traveled toward Lyndhurst Road.
The homeowner reported repeated shots being fired at the house, and reportedly shot back at the suspect truck.
Sheriff’s deputies found the truck at a Lyndhurst Road address and took Lam into custody. He was found with three shotguns and two handguns and ammunition.
During the course of the investigation it was revealed that the victim and Lam knew each other. Lam also was charged with underage possession of alcohol.
