An Augusta County woman reported missing on Friday came by the Sheriff's Office in Verona on Saturday to tell authorities she was OK.
Patricia Ann Herndon, 56, had last been seen on Tuesday. She said she was going to the Rite Aid in Waynesboro. A missing persons report was later filed, and the Sheriff's Office reported Herndon as missing on Friday.
Sgt. Tony Shifflett of the Augusta County Sheriff's Office said Herndon came by the department on Saturday night. "She wanted to let us know she was OK,'' Shifflett said.
Shifflett said someone filed the missing persons report out of concern for Herndon's 17-year-old son. Shifflett said she told deputies Saturday that she had been in touch with her son.
He said Herndon was told that in the future if she goes missing, to do it in such a way that a "missing persons report is not filed."
