Mary Crenshaw Anderson Mary Crenshaw Anderson, 78, of Charlottesville, Virginia departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Albemarle County, June 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Randolph and Elizabeth Henderson Crenshaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Dusty" Anderson Sr.. November 11, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her best friend and sister, Lucille Crenshaw Carter, August 24, 2004. She retired after 37 years of service in the Dietary Department of University of Virginia Hospital. She received her high school diploma from Jackson P. Burly High School. Mary was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where she was an active member. In later years she became a member of First Baptist Church. Mary was an outgoing, friendly and devoted sister mother and aunt. Her devotion to family and friends was commendable and her absence will leave a huge void for all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Daniel Fletcher Anderson of Charlottesville and Thomas Henry Anderson Jr. of Charlottesville; two granddaughters, Shakira Carey of Barboursville and Christy Parrish of Ruckersville; one grandson, Brien Thomas Gray-Anderson of Charlottesville; one beloved brother, Lawrence Crenshaw of Charlottesville; five nieces, Edna Carter Hearns and her husband of Ruckersville, Patricia Crenshaw of Charlottesville. Vivian Sandridge and her husband of Charlottesville, Regina Luck of Charlottesville, and Denise McRae of Springfield, Maryland; five nephews, Lawrence Crenshaw Jr. of Charlottesville, Michael Crenshaw of Charlottesville, Edward Carter of Charlottesville, Thomas Carter Charlottesville, and Gerald Luck of the District of Columbia; and a host of other friends and family. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 632 West Main Street on Friday November 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. Pastor Hodari Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. J. F. Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
