Evelyn Mae Turner Evelyn Mae Turner, 75, went to sleep in death in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Evelyn was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on February 13, 1938. She resided in Queens, New York, as well as Bridgeport, during her marriages and work career. For over 40 years, she has actively served as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. After visiting many times and enjoying our city, she settled here some three years ago. Mrs. Turner became an active member of the Charlottesville West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. We will always be grateful to her local friends who helped her adjust to her changing circumstances. She was buried beside her husband, Joe, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Saturday, November 16, 2013. We, Evelyn's children and grandchildren, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Albemarle County Sheriff and Rescue Departments. Their heroic efforts and those of nearly 200 volunteers, in our time of need, were and will be a great source of comfort to us in the days to come. The promises of Jehovah, the God who the Bible states cannot lie, assure us that we will enjoy Evelyn's company, as well as others who have died again. May our eyes look to him with hope and gratitude for what he will do. In honor of Evelyn's memory, please make donations to Albemarle County Sheriff & Rescue, 410 East High Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 or Charlottesville West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 665 Old Lynchburg Road, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
