The Central Virginia Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is holding its first-ever Outdoor Heritage Day/Women In The Outdoors event, Saturday Sept. 28, at Camp Friendship, 573 Camp Friendship Way in Palmyra. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a $20 fee (cash or check only) that will cover a cookout-style lunch, all the day’s activities, and one entry into a raffle, which will be drawn at the event’s close at approximately 4:30. All proceeds will be donated to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.
Activities commence at 9 a.m., and will include fishing, fly-fishing seminars, skeet shooting, forest exploration, hiking, wildlife and nature photography, canoeing, BB gun range shooting, and a Miss Queen Gobbler contest. Tickets may be purchased for a fundraising raffle held at noon, following lunch.
