Here come the cowbells.

By virtue of its 6-1 win over Central Arkansas on Monday evening, Mississippi State took the Starkville Regional and advanced its way to Charlottesville for the Super Regional.

Virginia and MSU will meet at Davenport Field in a best-of-three series. Game one is 1 p.m., Saturday (ESPN2). Game two is 7 p.m., Sunday (ESPNU). If necessary, game three is 4 p.m., Monday (ESPN2).

The Bulldogs (46-18) are in their second Super Regional in three years. They last advanced to the College World Series in 2007.

Mississippi State batted .296 and had a collective ERA of 2.77 in the regular season. It won its Regional by beating South Alabama once and Central Arkansas twice. It fell to the Bears, 5-2, on Sunday night.

The Bulldogs had a program-record six All-SEC players, including right fielder Hunter Renfroe (.352, 15 home runs, 58 RBI).

In its Monday win, Mississippi State pitchers struck out 17 Bears.

Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and 'Hoos.

Of course, in 2009, UVa got to Omaha by getting by Bulldog rival Ole Miss in an Oxford Super Regional.
