While much of our fair state has been dodging snowstorms sandwiched between spurts of beautiful weather, the Game Department has been busy with the trout stocking trucks. By now, almost every stock-able stream and lake in the state has received at least one load of trout. The water is flowing well and conditions – beside a little cold weather – could hardly be better.
Eddie Monger of Crozet took advantage this past weekend with a trip to Swift Run in Green County and was rewarded with a nice stringer of fat brook trout. To see which streams and lakes will be stocked this spring, check out the 2014 Catchable Trout Stocking Plan below.

***The water discharge on Thompson WMA Pond has experienced periodic leaking over the past several years and the Department is taking steps to mitigate the problem. Thompson will be stocked as a Category A water, provided the pond water level is compatible with stocking needs.
