A Charlottesville-based search engine marketing firm recently decided to get its employees unofficially involved in the city’s Celebrate 250 history initiative.
As a team building exercise, the staff at Search Mojo recently participated in a historically themed city and county wide scavenger hunt. Dubbed “The Amazing Race Charlottesville,” teams roamed from Monticello to more obscure locations like the Park Street home where Fannie McCue was murdered by her husband Sam McCue, the former mayor of Charlottesville.
The goal of the team building exercise was to help employees understand more about the city while working together to formulate winning strategies.
To assemble the trip, company CEO Janet Driscoll Miller used information from the official Celebrate 250 website and the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau to find unique and obscure spots.
“This event coupled with the anniversary of the city seemed like a great opportunity for all of us to learn about some of the lesser known historical venues and people that have shaped Charlottesville,” said Miller
