Glen Kelley has been named a Virginia regional president at Wells Fargo & Co., overseeing retail banking teams in the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Hampton Roads areas.
Kelley succeeds Tim Butturini, who joined the management team at the Wells Fargo Advisors brokerage in a newly created position as director of enterprise banking relationships.
Butturini, who moved to the area Richmond with Wells Fargo from the West Coast in 2009, started his new job July 1 and will move next spring with his family to San Francisco, where the bank is based.
The brokerage — the former Wachovia Securities — is based in St. Louis.
Kelley has more than 17 years of experience with Wells Fargo, particularly in the business banking and retail segments.
Most recently, he was the regional president for the greater Georgia region based in Atlanta.
"I look forward to continuing to meet clients' financial needs here in greater Virginia and developing a highly engaged and successful team," Kelley said.
Kelley began his career with Wells Fargo as a commercial loan officer with the business banking group in Beverly Hills, Calif.
He also was regional marketing manager, segment marketing manager and business banking division manager with the business banking group in California.
In 2006, he became area president for Wells Fargo's northern New Mexico region and moved to Georgia in 2009 as an area president.
Active in the community, he was on the board of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and was chairman of its Education and Workforce Readiness Committee. He also served on the board of the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education.
Kelley holds two bachelor's degrees — one in building science engineering and the other in architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also holds an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.
He and his wife have relocated to the Richmond area with their four children.
