GREENE COMMONS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Greene Commons Group, Inc. in Greene County is requesting proposals for the management of its new facilities in Stanardsville, Virginia, which include a pavilion and outdoor stage. Greene Commons Group is a partnership of Stanardsville Area Revitalization, the Town of Stanardsville, Greene Economic Development and Tourism, and the County of Greene. Management of the facilities encompasses the following: Farmers Market Manage weekly Saturday market housed in the pavi- lion, including set-up, vendor communication and recruitment, enforce- ment of market regulations, increase customer attendance, maintain SNAP benefits, create educational events that involve/benefit youth and families, arrange weekly local music performers, and support farmers market advisory council. Event Planning Schedule and execute outdoor events and festivals that promote music, arts, and lifestyle interests, provide income for Greene Commons, adhere to local, state and federal regulations, provide a safe and pleasurable environment for attendees with consideration for the community and volunteers. Funding - Solicit donations and sell naming opportunities to raise income, rent facility to outside parties, maintain rental schedule and contracts, apply for grants when appropriate. Marketing Promote pavilion and stage on social media, create and maintain website, develop promotional materials. Ideal proposals will demonstrate ample experience with both farmers markets and event planning, fundraising and sales, as well as success in working with artists and crafts people, multiple organizations at once, and government entities. Proposals should include outlines, budgets, and concepts of proposed events. Contract period is for one year, January 1 -December 31, 2020.
