Ash Lawn Opera will bring “Amahl and the Night Visitors” back to the Paramount Theater at 2 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12.

The cast will include Brandy Lynn Johnson as Mother, Kenneth Kellogg as Balthazar, Andre Chiang as Melchior, Benjamin Bunsold as Kaspar and Gideon Dabi as Page. Covenant School senior Georgia Castleman will sing the role of Amahl.

The hour-long opera, sung in English, is a perennial holiday favorite and a popular introduction to the genre of opera. The production will include a regional professional orchestra, young dancers from Wilson School of Dance choreographed by Juanita Wilson Duquette and local choristers prepared by Jeremy Thompson, director of music at First Presbyterian Church. Kate Tamarkin, music director of the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia, will conduct.

Tickets will be $45, $37 and $27 for adults. Student tickets are $16.50, and youth tickets are $12. Tickets are available online at www.theparamount.net or by phone at (434) 979-1333.
