The Virginia Film Festival is bringing in a fresh team of guest programmers to help build the program for this year’s festival.

Andrew Rogers, former head of RiverRun International Film Festival and the Denver Film Society, will head up the team with his wife, Iana Dontcheva, a veteran film producer, educator and programmer.

Their team will include indigenous artist and filmmaker Federico Cuatlacuatl, “Another Slave Narrative” filmmaker Michelle Jackson, filmmaker and programmer Joe Fab, international film scholar and curator Samhita Sunya and new media artist and scholar Mona Kasra.

Together, they will work with VAFF director Jody Kielbasa, assistant programmer Chandler Ferrebee and the VAFF team to create programming for the 32nd annual festival, which is planned for Oct. 23 through Oct. 27 at several Charlottesville venues. For details, visit virginiafilmfestival.org.
