Waddell Church holds fifth Saturday jam session

Waddell Church holds its Waddell Open Mic and Musical Jam at the historic church on the hill in Rapidan, beginning with a shared dinner at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. A service of Choral Evensong for Lent will be sung by the Choir of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Orange, at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. Stanardsville UMC Lenten services

Stanardsville United Methodist Church will have several special Lenten worship services from April 14-21. Palm Sunday Services will be April 14 with contemporary at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. and traditional service at 11 a.m. From Monday, April 15-Friday, April 19 there will be services each day at 12:10 p.m. with Friday, April 19th including the Stations of the Cross. On Thursday, April 18 there will be a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service. Also on Friday, April 19 there will be a Good Friday 7 p.m. service. Easter will be celebrated with a sunrise service at 6:45 a.m., followed by a church breakfast at 7:30 a.m.  Contemporary service will be at 8:30 p.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. and traditional service at 11 a.m. 

Mt. Nebo Lutheran Easter services

Mt. Nebo Lutheran Church in Rochelle will hold its Easter services as follows: Maundy Thursday service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, including Holy Communion; and the Resurrection of Our Lord (Easter Sunday) service will be at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, which will include Holy Communion. BUMC Maundy Thursday service

Barboursville United Methodist Church will observe the Last Supper at its Holy Thursday service April 18 at 5 p.m. The service will be a remembrance of how Jesus lived out the golden rule on the night he was betrayed and taught his disciples to do others as he had done to them. All are welcome.

Barboursville United Methodist Church will celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 21, at 10 a.m. The service will focus on Jesus’ teaching to lay up treasures in heaven and not on Earth, and how his resurrection serves as a reminder that while the things of this Earth are temporary, the gift of life with him will last forever.
