Stanardsville Baptist Church hosts its annual Vacation Bible School from Sunday, June 23- Wednesday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is “God Builds Character.” Each evening will include music, lesson, crafts, snacks, a puppet show to conclude each lesson and prayer. Mount Vernon and South River United Methodist Churches invite the community to a fifth Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 30 at the pavilion at Greene Commons behind the county administration building in Stanardsville.

Ethnic cooking class offered

An ethnic cooking class will be held at the Amicus Seventh-day Adventist Church from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. Featured for this third in a series of six will be food from the Caribbean/Indian ethnic background. The church is at 3980 Jacks Shop Road in Rochelle. Westover UMC hosts breakfast

Westover United Methodist Church in Ruckersville holds an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6. There will be pancakes, eggs, sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy, fruit toppings, coffee and more. Cost is $8 for adults and those under 10 are free.
