Stanardsville Methodist makes change
Stanardsville United Methodist Church will suspend its regular second Wednesday worship services beginning this month. Watch for news announcing new forms of community worship and outreach.
Blue Ridge Presbyterian holds Bible study
Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church will have a fourweek Bible study on chapters 8-10 of the Gospel of Matthew. The study will meet at a member’s home on Thursday evenings May 16, 23, 30 and June 6 and will start at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments. Guests are welcome and especially those who have had limited opportunities previously for Bible study. There are no costs. Yard sale at Mount Vernon UMC
Mount Vernon United Methodist Church is having a yard sale Saturday, May 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, baked items and funnel cakes will be available for lunch. The church is located at 76 Garth Road, Stanardsville. Stanardsville Baptist Church hosts gospel sing Stanardsville Baptist Church presents gospel bluegrass singing on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 3 p.m. Featured bands include the Blue Ridge Thunder and Ron Goode. Combined concert in Madison
The combined choirs of Hartland College, under the direction of Betsy Mayer, present “The Nations Will Praise You!” Sixteen nations unite to sing praise, prayers and promises from God’s Word. The concert will be held on May 19 at 6 p.m. at Beth Car Baptist Church, Madison. Please join us for light refreshments following the concert. Admission is free. Donations accepted for the Literacy Council of Madison County.
Cedar Grove Brethren revival and homecoming
A revival will take place May 29-31 at Cedar Grove Church, with homecoming on Sunday, June 2. Services will start at 7 p.m. with special music. Homecoming will start at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will follow the service and all are welcome to stay and join in the fellowship. Doug Goucenour will be the guest speaker for the Revival. Stanardsville UMC schedules Strawberry Fest 5K

Annual Strawberry Festival scheduled
Stanardsville United Methodist Church holds its 30th annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 1 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast is from 7-11 a.m. and lunch is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be several bands and other entertainment, children’s activities, vintage cars and arts and crafts on display. Sunday school at Shiloh Baptist
Shiloh Baptist Church will host their annual Sunday school program on June 2 at 3 p.m. Preached word will be from Minister Robert Anthony from Blue Run Baptist Church in Somerset. Shiloh Baptist is located at 71 Shiloh Road, Stanardsville.
Celebration of Eloise Giles
A Celebration of Life Service for Eloise Giles will be held at Grace Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8. There will be a reception, provided by the parishioners of Grace Church, in the parish hall immediately following. In lieu of flowers, Giles had requested donations be made to Grace Episcopal Church or the Greene County Animal Shelter. Grace is at 97 Main St., Stanardsville.
Spring Hill ready for VBS
