For the 16th year in a row, the Woman’s Club of Greene County will host the “It’s Not Your Ordinary Yard Sale” this Saturday.

Proceeds benefit the club’s “Caring for Kids” Annual Children’s Christmas Gift Project, which helps Greene County kids in need during the holidays.

Spring has finally arrived and after too much time spent inside, many people are looking for ways to spruce up their home. This sale has a wide variety of extraordinary items to add that special touch to home. Items include a Wurlitzer organ, perfect for an aspiring or experienced musician. Buyers can also set the mood with artwork of all kinds. Don’t forget dishes, furniture, art, memorabilia, linens, bedding, blankets - even an entire section of Christmas items to set off next year’s holiday season—will be available.

Got plans to have children as summer guests? Pick from piles of books, videos, games puzzles and toys to keep them happily occupied.

This unusual and extraordinary sale of gently used (and sometimes new) high-quality items is a great way to upcycle, recycle and repurpose what someone “don’t need any more” to “just the thing I want” at a good price for a great cause.

Each year the selection gets bigger and better and this year is the best sale yet.

For more than 40 years, the Woman’s Club’s “Caring for Kids” Children’s Christmas Gift project has provided needy children with the gift of a new toy and new books. Last year alone, the club shared the joy of the holiday season with almost 400 Greene County kids.

Volunteer elves work throughout the year to purchase toys and books at sales and special promotions. Funding comes through generous community, businesses, organizations and individual contributors. The annual yard sale is the only separate Woman’s Club fundraiser for this project.

For more information about this project or any of the other service projects of the Woman’s Club of Greene County, call (434) 985-6648. Information can also be found online at www.womasclubgreene.org.

The Woman’s Club is a 501(C)3 organization raising funds to serve needs in Greene County plus projects of the Federation of Woman’s Clubs and welcome new members.

The yard sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. It will be held, rain or shine, inside the social hall of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, 6562 Amicus Road in Quinque. Follow the green and white signs from Route 33 to Route 633 (Amicus Road).  Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking.

Come early. This sale is first com-first served with many one-of-a-kinds being only-one-available.
