William Monroe’s softball, baseball and boys soccer teams defeated Brentsville last Tuesday, April 30, at home.

Softball won 13-0 – the team’s third shutout of the season. As of press time, the softball team was 9-6 on the season and 4-1 in the Northwestern District. 

The boys soccer team defeated Brentsville High School 3-0. Junior Jackson Ward found the back of the net early on for the Dragons on a through ball from Brian Dunn. Senior Tim Cochran scored again for Monroe on an assist from Jorge SanchezRamirez, putting the team up 2-0 in the first 20 minutes of the game. Will Auer scored the final goal of the night, taking the corner from Cochran. As of press time, the team was 5-4-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in the Northwestern District.

Baseball emerged with a 7-4 victory. Senior Braydon Collier went three for four. Jonathan Sexton, Hayden Gibson and Derek Ryan all finished with two hits. Collier, Brice Slaughter and Lance Tate took to the mound for the Dragons. The baseball team, as of press time, was 9-6 on the season and 4-1 in the Northwestern District.

All three teams were expected to play away at Manassas Park on Tuesday, May 7. Their next home games are tomorrow against Skyline High School, with softball and baseball starting at 6 p.m. and boys soccer at 7 p.m.
