Offstage Theatre is starting up its 2007 Barhoppers Series of original short plays.
Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Rapture on the Downtown Mall.
The action moves to Escafe for smoke-free performances on March 18, 19 and 20 before returning to Rapture for shows on March 25, 26 and 27.
The annual Barhoppers collection features original plays set in bars and restaurants that are performed in real nightspots while patrons eat or have a drink.
This year's plays include Alonzo Lamont's "Cultural Diversity Ate My Lunch,'' John Ruemler's "Speed Dating,'' Garth Wingfield's "Daniel on a Thursday,'' William Camp's "David's Women'' and Joel Jones's "Power Lunch'' and "Them.''
Ruemler and Jones are Charlottesville playwrights. Jones is known for the popular play "The Answer Man.''
Tickets are $8. Arriving early is recommended, as tables get snapped up quickly. For details, call 245-8971.
