Live music is coming back to Madison this summer.

For several years, the Town of Madison and Plow & Hearth sponsored Music on the Lawn, a once a month outdoor concert featuring a variety of artists and bands. The concerts were held on the Madison County Library’s lawn June through August. However, the series ended after its 16th season in 2017 due to a lack of organizational and volunteer support.

Now, Madison County Parks and Recreation is bring live summer music back to Madison. The group has scheduled three concerts this summer, one each in June, July and August, with the first to be held Friday. “The Worx” will play the first “Music in the Park” Friday at Hoover Ridge. Children under the age of 12 are free. Blankets and chairs are permitted along with outside food. No outside drinks or pets will be permitted. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/music-in-the-park-the-worx-tickets-58766334689.

The second concert in the series will be held July 5 and will feature Austin Boggs. The event has been scheduled to coordinate with Picnic in the Park, the authority’s July 4 celebration. Picnic in the Park will be held 3-6 p.m. followed by Austin Boggs at 6 p.m. Picnic in the Park will feature water games, a bounce house, badminton, volleyball, corn hole, bocce and more including the Slip-N-Slide.
