On August 10, members of the Madison Marksmen 4-H Shooting Sports Club competed in the 4-H Northern District Shooting Match at Cedar Mountain Youth Inc. Range in Culpeper. Madison County athletes competed in the disciplines of BB Gun, Air Rifle Sporter, and Sr. Light Rifle Scoped.
Tre and Nate Mabry competed in the BB Gun event. Trey placed eighth while Nate placed 10th. In the Air Rifle Sporter junior and senior combined event, Stephanie Walrond placed second; Charles Coble placed third; Evie Foster placed 12th; Elizabeth Miller placed 13th; Marcus Miller placed 14th and Abigail Reynolds placed 18th. Stephanie, Charles, Elizabeth and Marcus received second place in Sr. Air Rifle Team while Evie and Abigail placed first and fourth among the junior class and received Jr. Air Rifle Team fourth place.
Shooting Smallbore .22 Scoped Senior were Charles Coble and Stephanie Walrond. Charles placed first and Stephanie 10th.
