Madison County earned the first victory of the Jon Rasnick era with a dominating performance against visiting Rappahannock County.
Leading 6-0 after the first quarter, the Mountaineers (1-8 overall, 1-5 Bull Run District) exploded for 29 second-quarter points to take command of the game.
Jack Bourdon did a little bit of everything for Madison in the win. In the first quarter, he caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Wade Fox. Later in the first half, he intercepted a pass to thwart a Panthers’ drive, then returned a punt 63 yards for a score to give the Mountaineers a 28-0 lead.
Madison concludes its regular season Friday with a trip to East Rockingham. Rappahannock (1-8, 0-6) closes things out by hosting Clarke County the same night.
