» Charlottesville Sherriff James E. Brown III has been elected president and Orange County Sheriff Mark A. Amos elected as vice president of the Virginia Sherriff’s Institute for 2019-20. The institute provides training and education to its members in management, crime prevention and other areas of public safety.

» Greer Johnson has been named executive director of The First Tee of the Virginia Blue Ridge, a local nonprofit that works to instill life skills and values in young people. Most recently, Johnson was a business development coordinator for the Chris Long Foundation. She has worked as a business writer for SNL Financial and founded Duo Boutique.

» Ben Shealy has been named managing director for the Charlottesville area for Fahrenheit Advisors, a Richmond-based business and human resources advisory firm. Shealy was most recently a finance executive with Diffusion Pharmaceuticals.
