Charlottesville Fire Department personnel will visit the 10th and Page Street neighborhood Friday and Saturday to check residents’ fire alarms and offer free alarms.

Part of the department’s Home Fire Safety Canvass program, the crews will go door-to-door to talk with residents about preparing for a possible home fire.

Homes without alarms or with non-operating alarms are eligible for free alarms to be installed by the department.

Any city resident who needs a working smoke alarm installed may call (434) 970-3245. There is no charge for the alarms.
