If you want your own slice of Cavalier athletics history, the University of Virginia will distribute bricks from the exterior of University Hall for free Thursday evening.
Bricks will be given away from 6 to 9 p.m. on the northwest corner of U-Hall on the sidewalk adjacent to the visitor parking lot, according to the athletics department.
To make sure as many fans as possible get their share of the memories, there is a one-brick-per-person limit.
U-Hall opened in 1965 and hosted concerts and special events in addition to UVa men’s and women’s basketball games. The men’s and women’s Cavalier basketball teams last played in the arena in 2006.
The building will be imploded at 10 a.m. May 25. In its place, UVa plans to build practice fields by August 2020.
