RICHMOND — Petersburg police have taken a suspect into custody after multiple people were stabbed at a plasma donation center Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the 2000 block of South Sycamore Street about 4:40 p.m. and took a man into custody without incident, Petersburg police Lt. Dustin Sloan said.

Sloan said several people inside Octapharma Plasma Center were injured with a "cutting instrument." He said he did not yet know the number of victims.

The victims were taken to Southside Regional Medical Center. Sloan said the victims were "stable at this point."

The suspect was being questioned by detectives Thursday evening.
