Insite Properties this week broke ground on 3TWENTY3, a five-story office building that will add 120,000 square feet to the downtown market.
The building will include 200 underground parking spaces.
The new building features the largest floor plates (single-floor spaces) in the Charlottesville market.
Additional building amenities include a pedestrian plaza/walkway, common lobby gathering space, rooftop terrace with patio, a conference and event facility, electric car charging stations, indoor bike racks and views of the Blue Ridge.
Batson-Cook Construction Company out of Atlanta will serve as the general contractor. Charlottesville-based Jay Kessler (no relation to Unite the Right organizer Jason Kessler) will serve as project manager and owner representative.
Construction should be complete by spring of 2020.
Law firm McGuireWoods previously agreed to occupy 17,218 square feet on the third floor.
Jay Blanton, managing partner of Insite Properties, said the building’s urban setting should help tenants recruit talented employees.
John Pritzlaff, of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, is Insite’s leasing representative.
