Workers cover the exterior of University Hall with fencing and cloth to aid in the implosion of the former arena, scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.

Members of the public will not be able to stand near University Hall when it is imploded Saturday morning.

Massie Road and Copeley Road will close at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and remain closed until the late afternoon or evening, according to the University of Virginia. The area around Davenport Field at Disharoon Park, Klockner Stadium and the John Paul Jones Arena, as well as their associated parking lots, will be closed to public access. Drones will not be able to fly above the restricted area.

Emmet Street will remain open.

The implosion is set for 10 a.m. Saturday. A live broadcast will be streamed on Facebook on the Cavaliers’ page.

Officials ask fans not to come near the site, which will be blocked from public access.
