Waynesboro police officers were first called to Sheetz in Waynesboro, 2156 W. Main Street, on Sunday at about 9:20 p.m. When they arrived, the people involved had fled in vehicles and were no longer at the scene. Officers secured the crime scene and began their investigation.
Police were told by a witness that an injured person had been taken to Augusta Health and was being treated for non-life threatening injuries related to an assault and not a gunshot. The injured person was released a few hours later, police said.
