Sheriff’s Office searches for felon considered 'possibly armed and dangerous'

Jimmy D. Bolenbarker Jr., 34, is considered "possibly armed and dangerous" by Augusta County Sheriff's Office. 

FISHERSVILLE — Deputies of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and the Skyline Drug Task Force are still searching for a fugitive after he and an unknown woman fled on foot from police Monday night. 

At about 6 p.m. Monday, police attempted to apprehend Jimmy D. Bolenbarker Jr., 34, who is listed as possibly armed and dangerous, at a gas station in Fishersville, according to a press release. 

Police say that Bolenbarker is wanted on multiple felonies and misdemeanor charges. He escaped apprehension in Fishersville Monday night by driving off in a Ford Focus. 

Officers pursued Bolenbarker toward Greenville, where he crashed into a curb but continued operating the vehicle until he lost control in the 500 block of Greenville School Road. 

Bolenbarker then fled on foot, the press release states, and an unknown woman who was a passenger in the car drove the car a short distance until she then also fled on foot.

Police say additional charges are pending.
