Augusta County deputies arrested three men who allegedly attempted a robbery in Crimora.

Dale Raymond Gangaware III, 51, of Staunton; Archie Deshawn Hardy, 23, of Augusta County and Joseph Allen Henderson, 39, of Augusta County, were all charged with the following offenses: attempted robbery, use or display of a firearm while attempting to commit a robbery and destruction of property.

The three men, while carrying a firearm, used a baseball bat used to break out a camper’s window on the 200 block of New Hope and Crimora Road at 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

Multiple deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence. Once on scene, deputies discovered the suspect trying to drive away from the residence.

A man, 26, who lives in the camper, told deputies he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery and that the men who broke in were banging on the camper door and demanding money.

The man was not injured.
