Dustin Griffin, 36, of Staunton, was arrested on Tuesday for meth distribution.

The Skyline Drug Task Force arrested a Staunton man Tuesday and charged him with distribution of methamphetamine. During the arrest, the suspect ran on foot, according to an Augusta County Sheriff’s Office release.

Dustin Griffin, 36, of Staunton, was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for meth distribution. Griffin fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended by the task force.

Money, meth and other suspected drugs were found on him, according to the release.

In addition to the original charge, Griffin was charged with a second distribution of meth charge, which is a felony; escape by force, felony and a misdemeanor of damaging property.

Griffin is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

The Skyline Drug Task Force is composed of investigators from Staunton Police Department, Augusta County Sheriff's Office, Nelson County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Appomattox Filed Office.
