Kenneth E. Bergerson, 86, of Tampa, Fla., recently from Charlottesville, Va., passed away on May 12, 2019. He was born on January 6, 1933, in Hurley Township, Renville, County, N.D. to Millian and Ruth (Little) Bergerson. The family headed west when he was young and he grew up in the Northwest. After two years attending Southern Oregon College, he married Kathleen Hartley of Ashland, Ore. Following service in the Navy, they and 2 young daughters, returned to Ashland, where he received a BA degree from SOC. His 30+-years in the banking/finance industry began in Medford and moved his family to many areas of the U.S. He loved the outdoors and this mobile lifestyle provided a variety of activities to enjoy. In his retirement years in Charlottesville, he served as Commander of The American Legion Post 74 and also became quite proficient in carving ducks. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Kathleen; daughters, Lori Pickar and Sheryl Kentner (Lee); brothers, Dale and Lee Bergerson; grandchildren, Victoria Kentner, Jonathan Kentner, and Aaron Pickar; plus nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Charlottesville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.act.alz.org) in Ken's memory.
