Kathryn Lynn Byrd-Colbert of Charlottesville, 60, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019, in Charlottesville. Born in Washington, D.C., on May 28, 1959, Kathryn was the daughter of the late George Elton and Judith Iona Adams Byrd. She was a recent graduate of The University of Richmond, earning her Bachelor of Science degree, and was most recently employed as a server at Wegmans Food Markets. She was a great lover of plants, especially her orchids and really enjoyed her grand-puppies. Kathryn was a remarkable woman with a great sense of humor. She was a loving companion to Steve Goodwin of Palmyra; and fiercely devoted mother to Douglas O. Hughes II of Hollywood, Md., Olivia A. Williams (Erica) of Norfolk and Schuyler E. Hughes of Charlottesville. She is also survived by two sisters, Sherry Harman (Mickey) of Roseland and Tammi Tippett (Steve) of Hollywood, Md. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Zurowski.
