Geneva Shifflett, 79, of Stanardsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 5, 2019. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a true friend to everyone she met. Geneva was born September 4, 1939 to the late Marcellas (Cell) and Addie Collier Shifflett. Mom loved her family and looked forward to Sunday dinners where she gathered her pride and joy around home cooked meals. Her greatest love was for the Lord and sharing the gospel in a quiet, humble manner that spoke to the hearts of so many over the years. She was a faithful member of First Mission Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. In addition to her parents, Geneva was proceeded in death by her husband, William Onnie Shifflett; daughter, Dorothy Mae Roach; grandson, Dustin Stepp; sisters, Virginia Shifflett, Marie Conley and Alder Shifflett; brothers, Alvin and Ollie Shifflett. She is survived by her daughter, Rita Shifflett; sons, William Shifflett (Holly), and Troy Shifflett (Wanda Jo), all of Stanardsville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three-great-great grandchildren; a brother, John Shifflett of Stanardsville; sister, Madeline Shifflett of Madison; and a niece, who was a like daughter, Helen Morris, of Dyke. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Mission Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1227 Simmons Gap Road, Nortonsville, Va. 22935. Funeral services will be at the church on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 11 am. The Rev. Frankie Chapman and Brother Eddie Godbey will be officiating with interment following at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family is forever grateful for all the kind words, food, prayers, visits, and support throughout mom's illness. Your love and kindness to mom, and the family will never be forgotten. A special thank you to her caregivers, Joni Helton and Montana Shifflett, her granddaughters, the team from Medi Hospice, Dr. Brooke Bostic, Caryn Marshall, and Bonnie Tirrell.
