American Legion Veterans Day observance
Orange American Legion Post 156 hosted its annual Veterans Day observance Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Legion hall on Newton Street in Orange. As veterans, family and friends filed in, Orange Elementary School students lined the street, waving flags and offering thanks for service. The program featured patriotic selections from the Orange Community Band, essays honoring veterans from Orange Elementary School students Anika Condon, Mostyn Smith Strom and Landon Tusing, and remarks from Lt. Col. Damon Hogsten, an Orange County native. Following the program, veterans and their families were treated to a luncheon hosted by the East Orange Ruritan Club.
