GUMC COMMUNITY EXCHANGE AND FREE LUNCH
Saturday, June 29, Gordonsville United Methodist Church will offer a free exchange of gently used items at the church picnic shelter from 10-11 a.m. and offer a free lunch from 11-12 noon in the fellowship hall through the Feed My Sheep ministry. Anyone interested in bringing items to the exchange can bring them at 9:30 a.m., and potluck dishes also are welcome, but not necessary. Everyone sits down together and everyone is welcome.
WADDELL 5th SATURDAY OPEN MIC AND JAM
Waddell Memorial Church in Rapidan will host its regular fifth Saturday open mic and jam session Saturday, June 29, at 6 p.m. The covered dish meal is followed by performances from musicians and entertainers from Orange, Greene, Culpeper, Madison and Albemarle counties, often with visitors from outside the area. Now in its eighth year, this event has become a lively gathering place for performers of every type of music, and a regular destination for appreciative audiences. Staple offerings of gospel and bluegrass are joined by popular, classic and folk music, with even a bagpipe on occasion. WBRBA ANNUAL SESSION
Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association will hold its 130th annual session beginning Saturday, July 13, at 4 p.m. with a pre-opening celebration featuring speaker Bishop Herbert H. Jackson, worship leader the Rev. Charles W. Wormley and the Mount Zion Spotsylvania choir. Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Barboursville, will be celebrating men’s and women’s day Sunday, July 14. The Rev. Owen Johnson, pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Dyke, will be the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service. The afternoon service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with devotion and the preached word at 3 p.m. delivered by the Rev. MT. HOLY 153rd ANNIVERSARY
Mt. Holy Baptist Church at 24035 Church Hill Rd., Culpeper, will celebrate its 153rd anniversary Sunday, July 21, at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served following the morning service.
