WILDON GROVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY

Wildon Grove Baptist Church will celebrate family and friends day Saturday, May 18, at 3 p.m. with a concert by Chris Lewis, an art show, games and a dedication ceremony. The church is located at 6820 Wildon Grove Road in Gordonsville.

 

CAR WASH AND BAKE SALE

New Fellowship Christian Church’s service and support ministry will host a car wash and bake sale Saturday, May 18, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Advance Auto Parts in Orange. The sale is a fundraiser for the church and will feature made-from-scratch baked goods.

 

BLUE RIDGE CHORALE CONCERT

The Blue Ridge Chorale will present its 2019 spring choral concert Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church, 754 Germanna Highway, Culpeper, and Sunday, May 19, at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. MT. HOLY PASTOR INSTALLATION

Mount Holy Baptist Church invites the community to celebrate the installation of the church’s new shepherd, Pastor Kevin Poole, Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m.

MT. PLEASANT SCHOLARSHIP SERVICE

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, located at 629 Lahore Road in Orange, will hold a service for its scholarship fund Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Walter Bryant of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Tanners, accompanied by his congregation. Dinner will be served following the 11 a.m. service. All are welcome.

 

UNION BAPTIST PASTOR ANNIVERSARY

Union Baptist Church, located at 312 Cobb St. in Gordonsville, will celebrate the fifth pastoral anniversary of Pastor James Copeland Sunday, May 19. GRIEF SUPPORT REGISTRATION

Orange Baptist Church is offering GriefShare, a grief recovery support group open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Samantha Reynolds will be the facilitator. Registration will take place Sunday, May 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church and will offer participants a chance to meet Samantha, pick up a workbook, ask questions and enjoy refreshments. HARTLAND COLLEGE CHOIRS

The combined choirs of Hartland College, under the direction of Betsy Mayer, will present “The Nations Will Praise You!” Sixteen nations unite to sing praise, prayers and promises to God’s word. The concert will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 6 p.m. at Beth Car Baptist Church in Madison. Refreshments will be offered after the concert and admission is free. Donations will be accepted for the Literacy Council of Madison County.

 

COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY

The Community Bible Study Fellowship will meet Sunday, May 19, at 5 p.m. at the East Orange Ruritan located at 24124 Constitution Highway (at Rt. 20 and 522) in Unionville. The Rev. Dr. Darryle Crump will continue the discussion on spiritual warfare. All are welcome.

GUMC SOUP NIGHT

Gordonsville United Methodist Church, located at 407 N. Main St. in Gordonsville, hosts a free soup night the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

 

CEDAR GROVE REVIVAL

Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren will hold revival services May 29-31 beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Doug Goucenour. The schedule of special music is as follows: Wednesday, The Boys of the Brethren; Thursday, Joe McAlister; Friday, Tommy Wood; Sunday, The Ford Sisters. LITTLE ZION PASTOR ANNIVERSARY

Little Zion Baptist Church will celebrate the ninth anniversary of pastor the Rev. John Reid Sunday, June, 2. The Rev. Hilliard Brown Jr. will preach the 10 a.m. service. At 3 p.m., the Rev. MEGA SPORTS CAMP

Mountain View Community Church will sponsor “Mega Sports Camp” June 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Booster Park in Orange. The camp is open to children ages 6-11 and will include flag football, soccer, cheerleading and kickball. Registration is required no later than May 20 and can be completed at bit.ly/2MVEVENTS. BLUE RUN VBS

Blue Run Baptist Church, Somerset, will hold its Vacation Bible School June 10-14 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly. Dinner will be provided each evening. WBRBA ANNUAL SESSION

Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association will hold its 130th annual session beginning Saturday, July 13, at 4 p.m. with a pre-opening celebration featuring speaker Bishop Herbert H. Jackson, worship leader the Rev. Charles W. Wormley and the Mount Zion Spotsylvania choir. The 130th session will continue July 16-19 at the WBRBA center, located at 15044 Ryland Chapel Road in Rixeyville. Sponsorships and advertisements are available for businesses and organizations.
